Scope and introduction

This manual is designed as an introduction to the 2dF/AAOmega system. It intends to give an introduction to the new user prior to training on the operation of 2dF/AAOmega, and to act as a refresher guide to experienced observes who may not have used the system for some time.

It should be used in tandem with the Observing procedures and ``Don't Panic'' survival guides, which can be found on the web at:

Ultimately these documents will be merged into a more coherent documentation set.
