New release of 2dfdr - July 2007
A
new public release version, v3.76, of 2dfdr is now available.
This version corrects a number of operating system specific
issues which make the software compatible with a larger number of
common flavors of Linux. The system also includes updated arc
line lists which improve wavelength solutions at intermediate
resolution. A number of minor bug fixes have also been
implemented resulting in improved stability of commonly used algorithms. It can be downloaded via the software page and the ftp site.
New release of 2dfdr - September 2006
This
new release improves the stability of the arc fitting code, which was
seen to fail towards the outer edges of the CCD for some Blue arm data.
A bug, which failed to detect the correct CCD readout window
type, has also been removed. It can be downloaded via the software page and the ftp site.
Configure 7.4 released - August 2006
This new release fixes a minor bug in the "Generate Sky Grid" routine. It can be downloaded via the software page.
A new version of Configure, Configure7.3, is available - August 2006
This new version implements the Simulated Annealing Configure algorithm. It can be downloaded via the software page.
A guide to using the Simulated Annealing Configure software - July 2006
An on line guide to the correct usage of the new Simulated Annealing Configure software is available now available .
Data reduction CookBook - July 2006
An on line data reduction CookBook is in preparation. The guide aims to guide new users through the setup and startup of 2dfdr, and to flag some of the changes between the reduction of 2dF and AAOmega data
Fibre-to-Slit position mapping - July 2006
A number of errors where found in the slit position to fibre mapping
during the early stages of AAOmega commissioning. All data taken
with AAOmega before August 2006 are affected. In total 4
banks of fibres (2 retractors, of 10 fibres each, and on each field
plate) where out of sequence. A Tcl script has been written to
alter the fibre table in raw and/or reduced AAOmega data to correct the
problem. The script (fdtswap.tcl) and the new fibre files
(spec_fibres.txt, spec_fibres.txt_old060630) can be downloaded from the
ftp site ftp://ftp.aao.gov.au/pub/2df/fdtswap/. Download the tar.gz archive, and the two spec_fibres files and follow the instructions in the README file.
