Beta release of 2dfdr for AAOmega
There is now a beta release of 2dfdr available for reducing AAOmega data. This includes many modifications to allow full reduction of AAOmega data. It also includes extra functionality such as a new extract method using a Gaussian weighted profile (GAUSS extraction), the ability to wavelength calibrate from night sky emission lines, the option of choosing the order to fit for arc/sky solutions. We note that these are not as yet fully tested to users may find problems in some modes. Also included is a version of ndf2fits/fits2ndf which works for AAOmega data and a new .idx file: aaomega.idx. To run use the commands:setenv DRCONTROL_DIR /myhome/me/2dfdr-linux_x86/
source $DRCONTROL_DIR/2dfdr_setup
drcontrol aaomega.idx -ndf
Currently the output format has to be NDF even though input can be FITS. Reduced data can then be converted to FITS using ndf2fits.
NEW 2DFDR VERSION AS OF 26 MAY 2006
The new version of 2dfdr can be downloaded here. The current beta release is available for RH enterprise 3.
