AAO Forward Look to 2015

AAO Forward Look v2, 1 December 2011 - Draft for Comment [PDF, 1.1 Mb]

The purpose of the Forward Look is to frame the AAO's broad goals and strategies for the next five years, and beyond to the end of the decade. It is not intended to be prescriptive, since circumstances change and opportunities arise on far shorter timescales. Rather it aims to provide a general framework for implementing the recommendations and priorities of the Mid-Term Review of the Australian Astronomy Decadal Plan for 2006-2015, along with a set of specific actions for improving the performance, facilities and services of the AAO.

This "Draft for Comment" version of the Forward Look document, released on 1 December 2011, was made available to the Australian astronomy community in order to provide an opportunity for feedback to the AAO.

Feedback from the community has been incorporated into a revised draft that will be considered by the AAOAC at its meeting on 15-16 March. The aim is to publically release the final version of the Forward Look by the end of March.
