GalaxyCount is a freely available JAVA program developed by Joss Bland-Hawthorn and Simon Ellis to
calculate the number and standard deviation of galaxy counts for magnitude limited surveys of a
given area in the UBRIKugrz, F450W, F606W and F814W bandpasses. A detailed description is given in our MNRAS paper.
Download the program. Version 5.0 9/7/07. Version 4.1 and above include many significant changes from previous versions. Variances are now calculated using numerical methods rather than the approximate analytical method used previously, and may be computed for circular, elliptical and rectangular window functions. The non-Poissonian component of the variance is approximately 25% higher under the new method. See the paper and the version history for details.
