Chemodynamical simulations of elliptical galaxies - metallicity gradients and the fundamental plane

Chiaki Kobayashi,   ANU

I have simulated the chemodynamical evolution of a hundred elliptical galaxies including star formation, supernova feedback, and chemical enrichment (I will briefly introduce my recent new papers on the model, which will be confirmed with HERMES). The formation history of elliptical galaxies is imprinted in the internal structures, namely, metallicity radial gradients and the fundamental plane. The intrinsic scatters along the gradient-mass relation and the fundamental plane are originated from the differences in merging history. This scenario will be tested with a large scale survey such as the 6dF.
