Tracing High Redshift Star Formation in deep Radio and Infrared Surveys
Dr. Nick Seymour UCL, UK
Abstract:
Tracing High Redshift Star Formation in deep Radio and Infrared Surveys "
The radio and far-IR regimes are the most direct tracers of star
formation as the luminosity of star forming galaxies (SFGs) at these
wavelengths is directly related to their star formation rate. While radio
surveys are now reaching levels where they detect more SFGs than AGN,
capabilities in the far-IR have just taken a huge leap forward
with the launch of Herschel. I will discuss what current radio and
far-IR surveys tell us about the history of star formation. I will
also present new results on the types of galaxies dominating star
formation across 0
