"Radio/FIR measurements of star forming galaxies and cosmic evolution."
Abstract. Tracing High Redshift Star Formation in deep Radio and Infrared Surveys "The radio and far-IR regimes are the most direct tracers of starformation as the luminosity of star forming galaxies (SFGs) at these wavelengths is directly related to their star formation rate. While radio surveys are now reaching levels where they detect more SFGs than AGN, capabilities in the far-IR have just taken a huge leap forwardwith the launch of Herschel. I will discuss what current radio andfar-IR surveys tell us about the history of star formation. I willalso present new results on the types of galaxies dominating starformation across 0 Held in the AAO Conference room at 03:30 PM on Friday, 22 January 2010
