"The 21cm Forest"
Abstract. Future observations of the "21cm forest" against high-redshift radiosources will allow us to trace out the structure of neutral hydrogenin the pre-reionization intergalactic medium (IGM), provided brightradio sources can be found at sufficiently high redshift. I willpresent a calculation of the expected 21cm forest as might be observedin coming years and discuss the trade-off between the availability oflarge populations of high-redshift background radio sources and therequirement for the IGM to be sufficiently neutral for strongabsorption in 21cm.
