This is a random star field in Puppis. If all the sky could be seen in colour to this quite faint limiting magnitude, it would be obvious that most of the faint stars were yellow with very few faint blue ones amongst them, while most of the very bright stars -- those that make up the constellations -- were blue, with only a few yellow ones amongst them.
