| No light. | Check that:
|
| The mechanism movement
fails or sticks. |
Try using the CANCEL command to cancel it and re-issue
the command. If this fails, reboot the SYNTEL (support staff only) then
reload the D-task:
LOAD ECH_ICL:ECHELLE (possibly not necessary but recommended). |
| The system appears to
hang. |
Type CTRL-C, which should always return safely to the ICL prompt. |
| You get a traceback from a task. | If you know which task it is, try:
LOAD ECH_ICL:task where task will be one of: (See UHRF and ADAM) |
| Something that did work stops working. | Try the same fix as above.
If this fails, try CTRL-C and repeat and/or try: KILLW task |
| You get the error message: Failed to get Telescope Position | Check the CAMAC ACCESS ARBITRATOR. If light 0 is on steadily (rather than flashing) CAMAC has hung, so press SYSTEM INIT on module 22 of the CAMAC crate. If the CCD readout does not complete, you might try RECOVER XMEM and RECOVER CCD from observer, but the data are probably lost. |
| If all else fails | If the fixes for the UCLES problems don't work, shutdown the system with SHUTDOWN or CTRL-Y and start again with UCLES. You shouldn't need to log out, but do so if problems persist. |
