Part II of this manual is intended as a condensed guide for observers at the telescope. It assumes that support staff have powered up the hardware and set up the detector. In the case of UCLES, a particular order will be aligned with the detector pixels, and the grating angle offsets and slit angle offsets will have been determined. For UHRF the spectral lines are aligned with the detector pixels. Observers should nevertheless familiarize themselves with the technical aspects of setting up the spectrograph and detectors, which appear in Part III of this manual.
