Check that desired IPCS pixel size has been set (typically 74 x 17 microns for UCLES). If not, adjust x-gain and y-gain potentiometers on IPCS rack in coudé anteroom; read graphs to get voltages which correspond to desired pixel sizes.
Check that IPCS rack is switched to control room.
Set xlines and ylines switches (in control room) to give required number of
pixels. The IPCS is normally used with a hardware format of 2048
