I'm currently a Super Science Fellow at the Australian Astronomical Observatory based in Sydney, Australia.

I investigate how galaxies came to be as they are.

How do galaxies initially form?
Which galaxies are forming stars at any point in the history of the Universe?
How do galaxies change by forming stars and merging together?
What turns off star formation in different types of galaxies at different times?

I use earth-based and orbiting space telescopes,
to explore variations in how galaxies formed,
how they lived their lives,
and how they evolved
into the diverse array of galaxy species we see today.
