AAO Documentation - Manual List

The following table lists current and past AAO Users' Manuals, as well as a few of the important Technical Manuals which might conceivably be of use to a visiting astronomer. Where an on-line version of a manual is available (either as a WWW browse-able file, or as a Postscript document) a link has been provided.

The column Hardcopy indicates whether you can request a copy of the manual from the AAO. If the column contains a 'Y' then a copy can be requested from the AAO Librarian. If the column contains a 'N' then only a single copy is available in the AAO Library. Visiting astronomers are welcome to peruse and to make their own copies of these manuals. If the column contains a '-' then copies of the manual are not maintained by the Library, because these documents are only maintained in their on-line form. If an e-mail address (eg. cgt) appears in this column it is because only a draft versions of the manual is available. Please contact the responsible astronomer to obtain a copy.

The column Superseded by indicates whethar a manual has been supersded by a more recent version. In some cases the instrument in question has been decommisioned, in which case this is noted.
