GENERAL BUILDER/HANDYPERSON
Salary range $35,471 to $53,817 p.a.
plus superannuation
Applications are invited for the
above position which is based at the Anglo-Australian Observatory (AAO)
near Coonabarabran, NSW. Coonabarabran is an attractive country town
with very good schools, affordable housing, located within a clean and
healthy environment with the popular Warrumbungle National
Park nearby.
The AAO, which is one of the
world’s leading astronomical facilities, operates two major
optical telescopes, the 3.9m Anglo-Australian Telescope (AAT) and the
1.2m United Kingdom Schmidt Telescope (UKST) located at Siding Spring
Mountain near Coonabarabran with the headquarters in Sydney.
A major refurbishment project is
in progress. The Building Services group requires a person with a
building background to carry out a variety of general building
maintenance work from general carpentry to painting.
Ideally the successful candidates
will have a trade qualification, but it is not essential for this role.
The position would require a self motivated person with a can do
attitude to carry out a variety of general building maintenance work.
You will be expected to both work as part of a team and assist other
trades to carry out work unsupervised. A demonstrated ability to
working at heights is essential.
The appointment is full time for
a term of three years and includes an attractive superannuation scheme.
