ELECTRICIAN
Salary range $47,373 to $60,273 p.a.
plus superannuation
Applications are invited for the above
position which is based at the Anglo-Australian Observatory (AAO) near
Coonabarabran, NSW. Coonabarabran is an attractive country town with
very good schools, affordable housing, located within a clean and
healthy environment with the popular Warrumbungle National
Park nearby.
The AAO, which is one of the world’s
leading astronomical facilities, operates two major optical telescopes,
the 3.9m Anglo-Australian Telescope (AAT) and the 1.2m United Kingdom
Schmidt Telescope (UKST) located at Siding Spring Mountain near
Coonabarabran with the headquarters in Sydney.
The Building Services group requires an
Electrician for a varied and interesting role carrying out preventative
as well as breakdown maintenance on equipment such as telescope
systems, air conditioning, fire alarms, switchboards, water and
sewerage plant and general power and lighting. A major refurbishment
project is in progress and will require the installation of new plant
and equipment.
The successful candidate will be a fully
qualified and licensed electrician with a “can do” approach
to provide building maintenance and repairs as well as electrical
installation. You will be expected to both work as part of a team and
unsupervised. A demonstrated ability to work at heights is essential.
The appointment is full time for a term of
three years and includes an attractive superannuation scheme.
