Since Helen Johnston, the normal editor, is currently on maternity leave, I have returned to the role for this issue and the next. This is also the start of a period of change for the Newsletter, since, starting next issue, we intend to carry out a complete redesign. The style of the Newsletter has not changed significantly since it was first produced in the 1970s. Now, with the increasing prominence of the Web, there is a need for a more html friendly version of the Newsletter. We hope that our readers will find these changes enhance the Newsletter, and we welcome your feedback on the results.
