X-ray Studies of Clusters of Galaxies.

This chapter introduces X-ray studies of clusters of galaxies. First the X-ray properties will be discussed, followed by a discussion of how these properties may be applied to observational cosmology. The introduction here is restricted to those X-ray properties of clusters which are most relevant to studies of evolution.
