  Although 270R and 316R are not strictly paired, there is
  no second grating for either of these possibilities. In
  practice, since we shall not be using all fibres, if it
  is possible to configure the targets using only the fibres
  associated with one spectrograph then we shall do so, using
  only the 270R grating.  .
