You will find here graphs and tables showing the nightly variations in the Sun and Moon, and other pertinent data suitable for preparing an observing run. The graphs and tables are organised on a nightly basis (i.e. split at midday), rather than split on calendar days (split at midnight). The data are available as screen displays or down-loadable postscript for high-quality printing.
The USNO Astronomical Application Department web site offers an on-line calculation service for these things if you're not interested in SSO. Go to the USNO AA department and follow the links to Data Services and then to which ever service you want.
The following are displayable (.GIF) plots of Sun rise and set, twilights, Moon rise and set, and Moon phases. There are graphs for the whole year and individual months. Approximately 25Kb each.
The following are simple text files of the numeric data suitable for displaying on the screen. Approximately 10Kb each.
Here you may download formatted postscript tables of the numeric data for complete years. They are compressed with gzip. Approximately 34Kb each. Remember to SAVE them rather than viewing them.

Here you may download the set of 12 monthly graphs as postscript files. They are also compressed with gzip, but are much larger than the other files - approximately 230Kb each. Remember to SAVE them rather than viewing them.

Following are text files which show the dark/grey/bright breakup for a calendar year for SSO. (better known as "chiaroscuro").
